Agganis Arena is a multipurpose sports and entertainment center that opened in January 2005.A 290,000-squre-foot premier venue with 6,300 seats for hockey and ice shows, the Arena is expandable to over 7,200 seats for men’s and women’s basketball contests, concerts, conventions, and family shows that occur throughout the year. Serving as home to the nationally-recognized Boston University Terrier men’s and women’s ice hockey team’s, Agganis Arena features a state-of-the-art 17′ x 24′ four-sided center-hung scoreboard with 7′ x 13′ video display, and an integrated facia video ribbon which has become a standard feature at NHL rinks across the U.S. and Canada.
