USCG Commandant’s Cup Hockey Tournament
April 27-29, 2017
Hyannis Youth and Community Center in Hyannis, MA
The USCG Commandant’s Cup Hockey Tournament will once again raise funds for the Coast Guard Foundation. This years tournament will be the twenty-third annual. In years past, Coast Guard Hockey has raised money for a memorial in Sitka, Alaska for the Coast Guard personnel lost in the crash of CG-6017, as well as the Family Disaster Relief Fund.
“Our participants and the families of those participating in these tournaments believe in stepping up to help our fellow shipmates,” said tournament organizer, Paul Deary. “Since we decided to go this route I have heard nothing but praise from those participating.”
Eligible members of a team must be active duty, active reserve, retirees and full-time employees of the Coast Guard, members of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, or be immediate family members of Coast Guard personnel. Deary said the tournaments are the major events for the Coast Guard Hockey club teams, and that people look forward to them every year.
